Learn About the Series Readers Are Calling a Breath of Fresh Air for Personal Growth

When I started the Thoughtbook series, I wanted to create something that would speed up personal development for others. I had spent a lot of time researching and trying out different techniques we’re often taught to use, and I wanted to share what I’d learned to help others unlock their potential quicker and avoid getting stuck.

I made each Thoughtbook short—under 25k words—straightforward, and to the point. Left out all the fancy jargon to make it feel conversational and included writing prompts because they’re so helpful for retention and building self-awareness. I also added tons of relatable examples to help readers make connections and make sure the information would stick.

I also wanted to create a curated resource, so readers didn’t feel like they needed to buy separate workbooks or tools just to see results. I focused on thoughts because they’re at the core of everything we do. And since thoughts and emotions are so closely connected, I included emotional intelligence practices too—an essential soft skill that impacts mental health, decision-making, goal achievement, and relationships.

Thoughtbooks are what I wish I’d had when I was starting out. They are my way of giving back to those who, like me, are looking to improve and live to their potential. It’s an honor to support others on their journey to growth and fulfillment. When I started the books, people told me the market was oversaturated and that I had nothing new to offer. I was told I shouldn’t even try and that “no one” would read anything I wrote (yes, this literally happened—in a writers’ support group, of all places).

I was nervous to see how Thoughtbooks would be received, but I couldn’t help but think they were needed. I knew they would stand out and be a welcome change. That’s why it’s been so exciting to see the positive responses. Even more exciting was noticing a common sentiment in the reviews: readers were calling the series a “breath of fresh air.”

“In an age where news and social media often amplify polarized views, Getty’s call for balance feels like a breath of fresh air.” The International Review of Books re Middle Think

This feedback means so much to me because it reflects exactly what I hoped Thoughtbooks would be: a practical, supportive, and relatable tool to help others take control of their thoughts, build emotional intelligence, and ultimately live more empowered lives.
