Definition

Thought literacy is the awareness and management of thoughts.

Clarification

Thought literacy involves noticing your thoughts, understanding how they influence emotion and behavior, and choosing how to respond to them. It’s not therapy, positive thinking, or the suppression of thoughts. Thought literacy does not mean controlling what you think, but becoming aware of your thinking patterns and managing how much influence they have on your reactions and decisions.

Thought literacy is the skillset for thoughts. It’s made up of two core elements.
